Whistler Rainbow Lorikeet

Our story.

Our founder’s fascination for Australian birds began at a young age and the creation of Whistler allowed for this lifelong passion to be shared with the country. From this, Whistler has honed a deep understanding of and appreciation for these beautiful and intelligent creatures, celebrating their song and what that sound brings to our lives.

Birds are the ultimate expression of nature, representing freedom, beauty and wonder. Continuing our founding principles, we are committed to doing better by birds through everything we do.

We proudly partner with avian experts to develop formulations that ensure the optimal health and wellness for Australia’s varied and complex birdlife. Our complete foods are specialised for each breed’s specific needs, and our treats are optimised to support their health throughout their life stages.

Knowing that nature is wondrous and enlivens the soul, we are committed to inspiring the next generation of bird lovers to appreciate this magic every day. We are dedicated to sustainability and are investing in ecological research so that birds continue to fill our skies.

Avian intelligence.

Whistler products are carefully formulated in collaboration with avian experts to deliver the best possible bird seed and treat solutions. We understand the unique dietary needs of Australia's varied and complex birdlife. By specialising our blends for each bird breed, we ensure optimal health and wellness, providing high-quality nutrition that supports natural feeding habits and encourages biodiversity. With Whistler, you can trust that your feathered friends are receiving the best care possible.

My love for birds started at a young age. My family currently has two beautiful parrots, Milo and Minnie, both hand-reared and often flying around the house. Milo is a big talker, and Minnie has a vibrant personality and loves kisses. They bring colour and noise that complete our home.

I have two pet budgies, Max and Roxy, whom I've had since they were quite young. They are very friendly and love to perch on our heads. Roxy is a feisty female, while Max is a subdued male who often gets bullied by Roxy. Despite this, they are good mates and enjoy each other’s company.

Fizz is my 2-year-old lorikeet. He is a real character who loves attention. If he doesn’t get it, he throws his ball around his cage or makes noise until he does. He is a great talker and has picked up a few naughty words from his owners. His infectious laugh will brighten your day. He loves honey on toast.

I’ve been keeping and breeding birds for 35 years, starting with finches and parrots. My aviaries now consist of approximately 240 birds, mostly Australian natives. They all have their own unique characteristics and are fed a range of seed mixes, pellets, and fresh and dried fruit.

Our Feathered Thoughts

“I love our daily visits from the cheeky lorikeets who bring a splash of natural colour to our balcony garden.”

“Certain bird sounds take me back to my happy place - listening to early morning birds chirping on my way to school.”

“Nostalgia for me is when the clouds are rolling in and you can smell the rain and hear cockatoos squawking in gum trees.”

“Growing up, my parents always fed the wild birds. I still love watching them when I visit. It makes me feel at home.”

“Camping in the Flinders Ranges as a kid we didn’t need an alarm, the galahs would let us know the sun was about to rise!”

“At home in the Lockyer Valley, I always smile when I hear the night calls of the wagtails whistling to each other.”

“Growing up on a farm, I knew it was going to rain a lot or flood when I’d look to the sky and see the swallows going crazy!”

About FibreCycle.

We believe that making the right choices today will have a positive impact on the future, whilst knowing that the right choice is not necessarily the easy one.

We are proud of our regional roots. Unaffected by what’s on trend, we thrive in the challenge of finding a better way. Creating simple, impactful answers to complex problems. At FibreCycle, we are The Curious Pioneers. We have always been inspired by nature’s process to regenerate, recover, repurpose and renew, allowing us all to live closer to the ones we love. For we know our pets make us better people.

We’ve been doing better since we began. Not because it’s the cool thing, but because it’s the right thing. We are enemies of fake “green products” that don’t perform. We unite against those who care more about performance than the harm they cause. So we will win with purpose. We will do what’s right, because it’s the right thing to do. We strive to do no harm. We want to always do better. For People. For Pet. For Planet.

FibreCycle locations.

The FibreCycle story began in rural South Australia before expanding nationwide with additional manufacturing locations in Victoria, Queensland, and Western Australia. Our sites manufacture a range of products including treats, food, bedding, and litter for pets.

Toowoomba

Whistler Bird Seed & Treats Location

Our footprint in Queensland expands across multiple sites throughout the Toowoomba region. Over the past few years we have increased our capacity, created new capabilities and most recently custom fitted out a plant which specialises in bird treat production. These sites bring our point of manufacture closer to where many of our ingredients are grown locally in the Darling Downs.

Dandenong

Whistler Bird Seed & Treats Location

Our Victorian site is located in Dandenong, the gateway to Gippsland and the Mornington Peninsula. This site produces food, treats and supplements for birds, cats, dogs, small animals and horses.

Upper Swan

Whistler Bird Seed & Treats Location

Our Western Australian manufacturing plant is located in Upper Swan, a stone’s throw from the beautiful Walyunga and Avon Valley National Parks, producing bird seed and cat litter.

Lonsdale

Our very first innovative closed loop manufacturing site was in rural South Australia. Today our Lonsdale site is one of our two proudly Australian based manufacturing facilities, located next door to the beautiful McLaren Vale region.

Helensvale

Our head office is in Helensvale on the sunny Gold Coast, where all teams from sales through to finance work side by side. This location allows for quick travel to manufacturing sites, as they’re easily accessible via commercial flights.
